As the name of this project suggests, I don’t have a real objective. Really, I just like to hear myself talk. I don’t particularly think that I have anything important to say, but I am just vain enough to share my unhinged thoughts with anyone willing to listen.
As I prepare for my thesis that will hopefully be finished next spring, I am reading pretty much everything about vampires. The works range from the original Gothic novel, The Castle of Otranto, to contemporary novels like The Vampires of El Norte. I read a lot and have been researching Victorian literature, gothic literature, horror, and folklore. I am nerdy enough to admit that I enjoy learning about everything.
In my downtime, I tend to craft or hang out with my siblings and their kids, who range from 3 years old to 20 years old. I crochet, knit, and am learning to embroider. All of these hobbies I decided to pursue on a whim. Typically, when I am not filling my days with reading or research, I find I am surrounded by silliness and a good sense of humor. The number of stories I have about my heathen nieces and nephews is sure to entertain.
I am married to a pretty awesome dude. He works a huge amount and ensures that we have everything we need while I am in my master’s program. I really couldn’t have asked for a better partner. Even though he is busy with his work and his metal band, he always finds a way to make sure I know he cares (today he bought me my favorite soft drink because he saw I was out).
Whether I am ranting about how hard school is, sharing what I have learned, or giving insight into the world of Rebekah, I hope you find some enjoyment from my ramblings.
